We get them on the Great lakes too. They are sadly very real as are rip tides on Lake Michigan. We've had people pulled off wharfs on Lake Michigan. Our lighthouse's are covered in ice right now down a football length wharf! Always respectful the water 🌊 storms can also come out of nowhere 😔
