Lol people complaining about the kid not wearing a lifevest, yall are silly, kid can probly swim much better than any of you folks. I've even seen kids around his age surfing on their OWN, that's pretty amazing, stop downgrading children like that. We used to play outside all the time, and they can do some pretty amazing things by themselves.

That’s awesome. As a protective mom/grandma, I was nervous seeing that wave coming at a boy without some kind of floatation device though. I thought “Even a good swimmer could get hit in the head by the board”. Then I rethought it. The dad is in the same danger and it’s a me problem. Enjoy yourselves, guys. If I weren’t so terrified of sharks, I’d be out there with you. 💕💕

To be honest I don't think this is the kids first time surfing with his dad. He is extremely calm and appears to be waiting for the moment to arrive so that he could ride the wave. Great father and son bonding time together. 💕💕💕💕

Very irresponsible as a parent. That little boy is too young and not strong enough to fight against strong currents should he have fallen off and been separated from his father. It’s wonderful that the father wants to share this thrill with his som… however, it’s much better to put the thinking cap on before the event instead of saying, “ Why didn’t I think of what could happen before I decided to do this”?

I'm all for training your child the way you think it should be done with in that child's skill ... in this case what if the child came off and got stuck in a under tow... child needs a vest.... its just my opinion and probably does not matter but it's how I feel... again my opinion may not matter but it is something I would do is make sure the child had a swim vest on

That's what a dad should be like, not necessarily Surfing LOL but include your son or your daughter in things that you like, take them Hiking, camping, fishing. Just remember, they're not going to be young for that long then your time is gone to make the memories that you could have, it's all about the memories. Just remember that. Great job surfer dad, you're doing it right?

Guys I’m not even in a relationship but I would want a life jacket on my kid… that being said, my father threw me in a pool at 5 without one (my 6 and 7 yr old brothers were in to get me just in case) I figured it out and could swim for abt 5ish min by myself before I found out I could touch after kicking screaming crying for help lol, I pretended I couldn’t touch every time I swam and pushed every day well bc I knew I could touch and would be fine, it was a game my brothers n me called stranded, beat my older brothers every time, I loved it. I was never babied in a river, lake, pool, or Myrtle beach ocean ever again after I was around 7. Always supervised, but treated like an equal. Life’s weird, bc they still wouldn’t let me drink. 😂
