I hate needles and every time I'm getting a shot, blood work, iv, etc., I always tell them to just do it, but don't tell me when. 🫣
I worked in a clinic. Big guys, full of tattoos would come in for TB tests for their job. They would be so nervous and sweaty. I’d say, how’d you get all these tattoos if you’re afraid of needles and most said, that’s just different.

When I was a kid I had my head split open on Christmas eve parents took me to ER the Dr sewed me up with no numbing or any thing I wanted to cry but didn't. Then my parents bought me ice cream and said to eat it slow so I wouldn't get a head ache I already had one.
The injection could be an antibiotic or pain med. Those have to be administered into the deepest part of the muscle and that is given in the buttock, not the arm. I am a retired nurse speaking.

I couldn't get off work & my husband had to take our daughter to the doctor. He called me & said she has to get a shot, but she said no!. I waited for the punch line, nothing, so I told him "You're the adult! she's our child, she doesn't get a choice, she has to do this to get well!" I still tease him

I feel that. I get trigger point injections on my back and hip for my chronic pain, and I hv sensitive skin & fibromyalgia . anyone even taps me, it hurts. some days are worse than others. but I tell my doc just keep going, get em over with. 🙏

That reminds me of when I worked as an RN in an IV Clinic. My most memorable patient was a big, burly 'Biker' who practically fainted at the sight of a needle! One day he came in for IV antibiotics with a friend, both big, burly guys wearing leathers. I just about died laughing when I opened the door to his room and there they sat........... side by side, knitting doilies to pass the time‼️😅😂🤣🙃🏍🏍
