I got pregnant & mom beat me up. I called abusive baby daddy. He married & dumped me @ parents 2 wks later. He returned when baby was 10 mo old. Got pregnant again & this time he tried to kill us. He lied to my mom & she got really abusive. After my first born turned 2, she beat me so bad, my friend talked me into marrying a man I had no interest in. Marriage of convenience; he treated me well, but cheated often. After 38 yrs, he started poisoning my food, given 6 mo to live. He died of Covid instead.

I was with the father of my 2 daughters, at beginning it was good relationship, but after a few years he used beat me so bad, and couldn’t do anything because he was like in mafia thing, I so afraid of him, but one night we went to a party and he got drunk and some kind of drugs he took, that night he started hitting me again even with those kind of flashlight that the police use, so I waited until he fell asleep, I woke up my girls, and quietly we walked out, I went to my mother’s house, I call the police, they went to arrest him and sentenced him for 4 years, but he lost his green card and he was thrown out of the country! With no right to come back at all! Then he died alone with no family or friends around him…

I helped someone that had a two year old daughter on last time I told her she needed leave before he’d hurt them badly she showed up at our house late at night let them in wasn’t long he showed up had beget my husband up cause he pushed his way in had her by throat on floor my man took him down I told him him get get guy out of our home we eventually had get police involved they finally caught him took him to jail

I've know dozens of women who have had physical as well as sexual abuse since early childhood. The abuser usually berates them into believing they deserve it, bringing it on themselves, and threatening to harm them or their siblings, their parents, or anyone they are close to. It messes them up to where they have trouble believing anyone would help them as many who did found they ended up using them instead of helping them. They don't make the best judgments because of these facts. Once they get away from it, they need a lot of councilling, and be around those who only have their best interests at heart. Be there for them, not judge them & help guide them without pushing 6 they will balk & run right back into what they've always known & lived with.

I feel horrible for abused Woman and Man ! Year’s ago an Army Buddy of my Husbands showed up from Florida with his Girlfriend ! We had distanced our selfs from him because of his behavior after discharge, from the Military ! Bad Dude ! We noticed Bruises and verbal abuse . He also got arrested while he was visiting for running from the Law in Florida ! That was my chance to talk to her, telling her “you don’t have to put up with this”, there is help ! She told me she had not known him that long , that he changed while on the road . She was afraid of him ! Thank God I knew we had a Shelter for abused Woman, in Newburgh, N.Y.. She was willing to have me take her there . Stretch, wanted us to bail him out. Absolutely Not !!! We do not know what happened to him ! Month’s later we heard from the Girl, she thanked us and told us that the Shelter helped to get her back to Florida. She left that State, for safety reasons ! Unfortunately, we never heard from her again ! 🙏🙏🙏
