Windmills do create more energy than it takes to create, ship, dismantle over their life span... which is only around 22 years or so, if they are put in a windy place of course there is a net benefit.

ummm no, not as described. steel is the second most recycled building material, only behind concrete. not all of that steel would have come from iron ore. steel can be made without coke and can infact be made with electricity produced by wind power. should the government be throwing taxpayer money in to private companies building windmill, no.are they a waste of money, no. should private companies be allowed to build them, sure.
look up who and how much wind and solar are funded versus oil and gas,and remember the government doesn't produce anything,they are taxpayer funded
