either the cylinder was misalignment or the barrel cross threaded, or spacing between cylinder and barrel was too far apart or maybe just loaded to hot. like shooting a .357 out of a 38 special. I would have to examine the gun, could have had a twisted frame also

The cylinder didnβt turn when he cocked the hammer back. Out of alignment. The round struck the frame/barrel mouth

Back in the 1992 I worked as a tool and die maker and a employee brought in a hand gun with a lodge bullet at the muzzled end of the barrel and plus expanded..so he asked me to cut the barrel off and to my surprise there was another bullet behind the first bullet..I looked at him and shook my head and told him he was lucky to be alive.

A light load causing a squib load, then the next bullet he fired hit the bullet stuck in the barrel and blew up. Happened to my brother once.
thus is a very old video, but I'm going to toss my thought in the hat. It may have been a misaligned cylinder, or maybe it was .45LC in a .44mag revolver. it could have had the wrong cylinder in the frame, many J-Frame pistols have interchangeable components. To my understanding some Dan Wesson frames were sold in sets with barrels and cylinders to facilitate the owner using different calibers for different purposes.
The pistol wasn't cleaned and oiled properly. Causing too. much drag on the bullet passing threw the barrel,

looking at how hard he had to lever back the hammer, he had a squib, the unburnt powder was gumming up the cylinder and forcing cone, he forced it and didn't check the barrel for ubstructions. I had this happen on a XVR 460, though I did not fire, the culprit was incorrect primers not hot enough to ignite the H110 powder.
Gun are evil. They should be all melted down and turned into... π just kidding, I believe in our 2nd Amendment and the right to arm bears, I mean bear arms. It is the people who lack emotional regulation, maturity and a solid sense of right and wrong that hurt people.

I think he may have hit the cylinder release and just lossened the cylinder and put it out of time. I can't be sure but his fingers are messing with something on the left hand side of the revolver and this senerio would explain the explosive disassembly of the revolver.
That's impossible to do. 357 cartridge is too long to fit in a 38. 38's can go into 357's. So try again.
