I was stopped at a rest area, stretching my legs a little and I hear this woman wailing. So I run over to her and she said she was getting her son into the car and she dropped something and it rolled a couple of feet away. In that short amount of time her son locked her out of the car and the keys were inside. She was begging someone to break the window but the other two people didn't want to do it and then the woman want them to pay for the window. I said are you sure about it and she said yes,I need to get to my son. I go to my truck and pull out my 4' long mace that have these huge studs on it. One whack and the glass exploded. She was crying and thanking me. I stayed while she calmed down as she was very distressed. Once she calmed down I told her I was about to go and she said "what on earth is that thing you broke the window out" ? I explained what it was and she said she never thought someone would co.e to her aid with a battle weapon.

If my child was stuck in a hot car I’d break the window myself. I wouldn’t even wait 10 minutes.

Well it happened to me. When my youngest daughter was about ten months old my oldest daughter had back surgery. I had taken my oldest to physical therapy it was in December freezing cold. We all went into therapy after her therapy was over the baby and I went to get the car she had a.big winter cat and hat on and I turned the heat to high. Drove around to the entrance to get my daughter who was in a wheelchair. I put the car in park left it running was just going around the car to put my other daughter in the car. When I got out of the car I thought I was hitting the unlock button for the passenger side when I got to that side the door was locked went back over to the driver side it was locked. I was freaking out the heat was on high my baby was locked in a car and I had her coat and hat still on her. It seemed like eternity until the Fire Department and Police arrived. People always want to judge but in my case an innocent mistake on my part hitting the wrong button. My baby was fine

child could easy locked the door. the mother might put the child in while leading the car so she felt safer than leaving the child alone in the house or run in the streets. it happens we don't know there not telling. she did call PC fur help if it been me I would broke glass in the back my self I wouldn't waited ever second counts. arrested her u cant jump to that until u know what happen it look like she put the child in the car was loading the laundry to go wash the child accidentally mask those stupid electric locks I hate those things need bring back old style locks just this reason coat hanger will unlock yr car if u has push down PC didnt seem to think it was a case of negligence.

Ok, haters and all of you that are so Perfect and have never ever had anything go wrong. Shit happens all the time. This happened to me and my son. I came out of the store with my son and our groceries. Opened the rear car door while holding my son threw my purse, diaper bag, and keys on the car floor. Put my son in his car seat, buckled him up, and turned around to see the grocery cart starting to roll away. I took a step and reached out to grab it, and the car door closed.

wow the lady said no to breaking her back window. so the officer could save the child that has been locked in a hot car with no windows down. that lady should be arrested for child endangerment.

Wow, people are so quick to judge. I have locked myself out of my car while pumping gas. Luckily, my son was not in the car. I also have called the police to get in my car, because they used to carry slim Jim's to open your car without breaking a window. Recently they stopped doing this in many places.
