Im retired Law Enforcement of over 20 years, Ive done hundreds of DUI cases. Because she has COPD doesnt mean she doesnt have another ailments that's making her walk this way. Her walk is not consistent with intoxication, plus she is immediately answering all his questions coherently and decisively. She is just saying she will have a hard time blowing in his Alco Sensor.

A number one. You don't know the symptoms of a stroke. Victim and/COPD they walk as if they're intoxicated. Mathematics, 101 call character reading.😳

She could possibly have neurological problems like MS hence her imbalance when walking, copd is why she can’t take a deep breath and blow into that instrument. I know because I have both. COPD & MS is no joke!!!

People, she was just saying she has COPD and that would be the reason why she’s unable to blow for very long. It has nothing to do with why she’s walking that way. My guess is she has some other helmet that was causing her to walk that way because that does not look like the walk of an intoxicated person.

You start breathing really hard when COPD or even 25% of your heart function you won’t be able to catch a breath afterwards this is wrong. They’re asking a person with handicap to do this. I understand the reason behind it but when they have COPD or you have only 25% heart function, you use your breathing you can’t breathe afterwards. You will end up almost done. This is a wrongful thing for handicap people.

I don’t think she’s saying she has copd for walking like that. She’s saying she has COPD after he told her to blow harder into the breathalyzer

She appears to have the limp from a bad hip or past hip b surgery. I'm a nurse x 50 years. I recognize her gait.

Like someone said she is not faking, she letting officer know she can't blow into breathalyzer because she has COPD. She's not incoherent, she can suffering my a light stroke from the way she's walking. And being stop by a white cop and she has pistol can send her blood pressure up. Everyone is not a liar!

she probably has COPD and other problems as well. she obviously has a problem walking. she said usually need somebody to help her to walk. the officer was respectful we did not see the whole video but from what we saw everything looked legitimate. and I'm glad she got out of the car when asked.

She actually walks like she has a disability of some sort — maybe a bad knee or hip — or simply balance issues that sometimes come with aging. I know — I can’t walk a straight line down a hallway without sometimes drifting slightly to the left or right!

This happened to a friend of mine. He had a neurological disorder that was newly discovered that he hadn't come to terms with. When the highway patrolman called me I said no sir he hasn't been drinking, he just got off work. He arrested him anyway. When the test came back negative he said we'll he must have taken something. Sir accept you are wrong. He hydroplaned on a wet road. He later died from that same condition.

I remember getting pulled over with a small walking boot on my left foot. It looked like a regular shoe. Hadn't drank in over 15 yrs, blind in my left eye and blood sugar was off and he tried to make me do those DUI test, I fell he said I was shooting up because I was checking my blood sugar and giving myself insulin. After being arrested and taken to jail, there nurse or whatever she told them she needs to be transported to the hospital now right now, or she will be in a diabetic coma.

She was telling them she had a disability because of the way she walks and she also has COPD which is why she can't blow hard. She should tell them to take her to the hospital. While there get a blood alcohol level. And take that when she goes to court.

Regardless of what all you said about the cop being wrong. You're the ones who are wrong. He was just following protocol. Always remember if you follow policy, procedure and protocol, you'll never be wrong. He was very respectful towards her. I have COPD too,and don't walk that way. I too am a retitled ER nurse. If she had any defecits,ie: stroke or something else, I would do a full work up. Then with fact's in hand,it would be decided if she would be allowed to drive anymore.
