first of all, all of the things you listed in the generic wish list everyone of you ilk uses cost far more than the amounts listed so it's not a fair or accurate comparison. $200 million is a drop in the bucket of the cost of "feeding the hungry", "housing the homeless", or universal health care. Second, the things that use up our money is not things like a ballroom. It's things like governmental waste, fraud, and abuse, providing military protection for pretty much the western world (fir example, Canada can afford it's wonderful "free" health care because our presence and assistance allows them to spend practically nothing on defense), and providing assistance of all types for half of the world. And that's just the start of a very long list of things we spend money on that we really could choose not to.
