These rugs are most likely made using child labor. Sadly, I saw it for myself in Egypt. The carpets were gorgeous but using children to make them turned them ugly.

The skill these craftsman have is insane to hand shave and level that carpet
I used to sell expensive large carpets in a large department store. I never heard of this being done to any of the carpets/ rugs we sold back then. That was in the 1970’s.
