That is a bull Elk. Not a Moose & NOT a White Tailed Deer. His head is up & tipping his antlers back because he is scenting for females. He is absolutely fine. If he was sick or injured he wouldn't be strutting around like that! He is looking for dates with the ladies.

I feel bad for that moose. his horns look heavy. I'm surprised there aren't resources that when a moose is seen like this they can sedate it and shave the antlers a little so it ain't so heavy but he can still protect himself. maybe there are people who do that I'm not sure🤔

I live in Colorado, and in a few of our towns, the elk are VERY thick during mating season, and yes, they literally walk through town in big HERDS. This is most likely the town of Estes Park, at the Eastern entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, and the elk are so thick there that they can be a hazard to the local traffic and pedestrians alike. What you are seeing is a NORMAL sized LARGE MALE bull elk, during rutting season, with a normally sized large rack of antlers for a big male. They can be and ARE dangerous, especially during this time of year. and it's ALWAYS wise to keep a good distance. We ALSO have moose, who prefer WETLAND habitats, and are even BIGGER than elk, and much, much MEANER, and WAY more dangerous!! A MOOSE will charge and attack you just for LOOKING at it wrong!

He’s so big and majestic!!! We were vacationing in CO a few yrs ago and while riding down a road a guy almost that big was running on the side of the road next to us, basically racing us!! I was in the back seat , passenger side and I could see his left eye looking at us. Thank God our friend that was driving handled our truck well. We didn’t know what he was going to do and the elk didn’t know what we were going to do ! I was so afraid he was going to get a bit ahead of us and turn left and we’d hit him. Luckily no humans, elks or pick up drivers were injured that day!!
Wow that’s a huge elk and it is dangerous for people to get that close to them just so they can take pictures. You got to remember that they are wild animals and they can be dangerous.

Wow what an absolutely beautiful elk!! I looked at comments as I thought it was a moose! And video has Colorado Adventures so it must be in mountains of Colorado! Beautiful scenery too! And the woman is simply going to get into the storage area of her car, this is in reference to other comments. I have an SUV also. Would like to visit this beautiful area and see those amazing animals in person.

WE SEE DEER, IN FACT, ..18 YRS AGO A DEER, POSSIBLY A HERD OF DEER, CAUSED MY HUSBAND TO WRECK HIS HARLEY. 6 BROKEN RIBS AND LOTS OF BRUISES, AT 4:30 AM ON HIS WAY TO WORK, IT WAS BETWEEN 2 CEMETERIES, WHERE THEY RAN, LITERALLY, INTO HIM, DOWN HE WENT. HE STARTED TO PICK UP HIS HD AND RIDE ON INTO WORK. BUT HE COULDN'T PICK IT UP. ANYWAY, RUNNING INTO THIS HUGE ELK, I DOUBT IF MY HUSBAND WOULD HAVE GOTTEN UP WITH ONLY 6 BROKEN RIBS! I DOUBT A SEMI WOULD BE ABLE TO MAKE IT!! WOW, THEY ARE HUGE!! R-E-S-P-E-C-T FOR THESE BIG GUYS! YEA A DEER IS BIG ENOUGH! 👍

Elk are so cool,living in Seaside Oregon we saw them all the time, they would block traffic and cops would have to help traffic get through,lol. Almost hit one when two ran out in front of me in the pouring rain, thank God my car stopped quickly, I was literally only an inch away from hitting a female elk!!!
