He did the right thing. Evidently the coffee was more important than boarding the plane to his wife. On top of that she ignored his phone calls. She needs to be more mature and get her priorities straight. She is not a child.
Here's the rest of what happened before this flight. There were previous flights they had missed because of her. The flights were to visit his daughter from a previous marriage.

Full story: This was the 2nd time this happened. They were on the way to visit his daughter ( from a previous relationship ) and the wife pulled that same selfish ploy, causing him to miss his flight ✈️ and not being able to visit his daughter, .. after rearranging his finances, and time off work, he scheduled another trip to visit, whereas the wife left again to buy 'STARBUCKS ', this time he got on the plane, as he should have.
