Let me read that sweet babe's facial expression, Mom and Dad: I will make you wish you did not do this to me. I plan to start my Revenge around midnight and I will keep you up until your wake-up time to get ready for work at 6:30 am.

I don't think the baby is distressed in any way. Babies learn to swim easier than you think at this age. You can find endless videos on YouTube.β™₯️

Is this their home (which I doubt) or some sort of facility/play center? I’ve never seen anything like this in the U.S. I have seen the floating ring before but not the facility πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

I started my son swimming when he was 2 months old. at first just held him in the water with me and by the time he was 6 months there was no way he would let me hold onto him anymore. he is such an excellent swimmer now I saw him rescue at least 4 people caught in currents in Hawaii. he is 6"6 now and a very strong swimmer.

In what culture do you submerge a new born into vat of water with a plastic donut around their neck?

There was a place back on Long Island not far from where I lived. It was amazing watching the little babies learn how to not be afraid of the water at such an early age! They'd get tossed in the water, turn over, and float!

There are several benefits of babies learning to swim. As long as it's done by someone who knows what they're doing. Also babies haven't developed a fear of water yet so it's much easier.

You would think the baby would choke after 30 seconds. The float is holding his entire body, wrapped around just the baby neck. He does not look distressed though. :) He's a tough booooger. :)

This is NOT a good idea. it may look cute and amusing, but an infant left unattended with this contraption on can still drown.

Our daughter loved the water. She had floaties on both arms. Someone distracted me by the pool and the next thing I saw were te floaties on the water and my stomach sank in a matter of two seconds. Then I saw her swimming in her own by kicking her legs and looking totally happy!!!

Although I agree with having children learning to swim, I'm not sure that floatation is supposed to go around the neck. I bought my great niece a similar device, and the instructions showed it went under the arms

Definitely the wrong way to teach an infant to learn to swim. That blown up thing around the neck is definitely NOT the way to do it. The infant learns neither how to paddle, use neither his hand nor feet to stay above water. Babies & pets swim automatically. The stay above the water by being dropped into it without any aid. My daughter had a swimming teacher at 6 months old.
