Fingerprinting is nothing like tv shows. Not only would your prints be all over the tiny bottle but his would be smudging the prints all over it. Honestly they wouldn’t even bother with this. The detective would need to get elimination prints from everyone with legitimate access, then someone has to go over the print and remove everything that is not involved with the print, in this case I doubt there’s even a partial but, even if there was a partial the partial has to be big enough to include 5 separate distinguishing points. Let’s say by some cold chance in hell all of that happened, then the partial print still might not match up because the part that was smudged is the partial that’s in IAEFS. On top of all of that, IAEFS isn’t like tv either, it doesn’t just pull up a name, picture and info; it pulls up all close matches, so then a human needs to visually compare the partial from the evidence vs what IAEFS pulled up. That’s a lot of hours for nothing stolen?
