The passage the pope is quoting here is found in (Isaiah 1:15)! However, to read where the discourse begins, we refer to the start of the Chapter! God is telling Isaiah to preach the call to repentance to the people of Sodom and Gomorrah! (Read verse 10)! God is not speaking of war here: He is speaking about being laden with iniquity and forsaking the Lord! (verse 4)! To quote or misinterpret Holy Scripture can be very misleading and in some cases detrimental! The pope never offers Scriptural passages as to (BCV): BOOK, CHAPTER, VERSE! This is necessary and required to allow people to hear, “THUS SAITH THE LORD”: not thus sayeth the pope! The wise King Solomon even wrote in (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8): TO EVERY THING THERE IS A SEASON, AND A TIME TO EVERY PURPOSE UNDER HEAVEN: a time for love and hate: a time to kill and to heal: a time for war and peace, etc,! The popes message here is clouded with disinformation and misinformation, granting to the people nothing but error in his

Does that include popes who have waged war? I'm thinking specifically about Pope Pius IX who raised an army of 9000 to fight against the unification of Italy. Or even Pope Pius XI who blessed Mussolini's troops as they invaded Ethiopia. It's really the hypocrisy that is bothersome. Why does this present day Pope still have a mercenary army well supplied with modern military equipment?
