Well, Hallelujah!! Trump is hopefully now realizing that illegals with no criminal record shouldn’t be detained and deported. I think (and hope) Pope Leo has had some influence on him. These poor illegals who have been here for years and never committed a crime should be allowed to stay here. Besides, we need them for farm work, construction crews, landscape workers, and many other jobs. I think Trump is feeling pressure from the Catholic bishops, which is good. The way illegals have been treated is simply inhumane. Yes, deport the criminals. But let the ones stay who are good people and have raised their families here.

The quotas put in force were a total disaster. Study show only 4% are criminal with the other people having little or no offenses such as a driving ticket. However, because the quotas weren’t met, they started el canceling green cards and deporting legal aliens. These legal aliens pay millions of dollars in taxes and were working own homes drive cars and contribute to society. Now they’re gone.
