It is already illegal for non citizens to vote in federal elections, and there is no credible evidence showing widespread fraud. That claim has been investigated repeatedly and comes up empty. So if the problem is not real, what is this bill actually solving? What it does do is add documentation barriers that will hit lawful American citizens the hardest. Seniors without updated IDs, married women with name changes, veterans, and working class people who do not have easy access to paperwork are the ones affected. That is not election security, that is restricting access. When you create obstacles for eligible voters while chasing a phantom threat, it raises a serious question about intent. This looks less like protecting elections and more like shaping turnout to maintain power.

The save america act, might even keep Americans from voting. Trump has a base of loyalists that are very elderly. They might not be able to get a passport, and/ or homebound, and have no transport.
Stop spreading MAGA lies about the number of undocumented immigrants that entered the United States during president Biden’s. Administration. When Trump left office in January 2021, there were at least 11 million undocumented people in the United States this number increased by less than 2% when Trump took office in January 2025. That’s a whopping 200,000 people, which is in the margin of error in the estimate of the number of undocumented immigrants.

Democrats don't have a problem with the ID. It's how it is being done. First it's only months until midterms so there is no enough time to do this fairly. Second, not everyone has easy access to a birth certificate or passport. Third, the cost of the ID needs to be paid by the government. Fourth, married women who changed there name have additional hurdles. Fifth, it eliminates Mail in voting.
