thank you Mr Abbott for looking into this delinquency of the students and the teachers and faculty..teachers need to be fired or suspended for there part .
They should be in school during school hours. If they want to protest it should be an after school activity and parents should have to provide permission for students to participate.
49.3% of Texans under the age of 18 are Hispanic. Today's politics effect them. All they have is their voice.
In the sixties we were taught civics. Students walked out protesting the Vietnam War. The politicians responded to that by no longer requiring civics to graduate.

Texas students have a LEGAL right to walk out while the schools can penalize them as they see fit. These students are within their rights. Google it. They may be children but they are reacting to the injustices in their own neighborhoods. Abbott is a mini Trump wanna be. Now what does he do - he appoints a TEA Inspector; a new position to spy on educators to ensure the educators don’t use their free speech (think giving their opinion on Kirk assassination). He wants to muzzle free speech and those that don’t approve of his rabid policies.

I’m sorry but we all were teenagers, and yes they are aware of what is going on and yes they understand it . But let’s all be honest we were teenagers anything to do to get out of class was a reason to do it. Protest should be handled after school hours.

send fines to all the parents because of truancy. That's what they did to my mom when I skipped school as a kid. My mom drug me into the courtroom, got smacked with a fine and told if it happened again SHE could be arrested.

I’m a 1985 graduate and while I was in high school we did walk outs all the time!! This is not new it’s just the MAGA idiots are not having it. Keep it up kids because this is your future make your voices count since you can’t vote yet. 👍🏼

I drive a school bus for children from K-12th grade. I am amazed at what these young adults discuss among themselves while on the bus. Don’t think for a minute they are not aware of what’s going on in the world. And not only politics. They were discussing why they ride the bus versus driving themselves to school. These students are our future. Some of these same students will be voting in the next presidential election. They have a right to express themselves. I was howled off to the military when I was 19 and unable to vote at the time. Back in the day you had to be 21 to vote. Today you can vote at 18. Some students are still in high school at 18 and can vote. They have a right and obligation to peaceful protest.
How gives a crap? Kids will skip school over anything. They don't even know why. 🙄

schools are just a big baby sitting facility.... Since "no child stays behind" students have been lazy in education... High school students graduate not knowing proper grammar, basic math, and schools are taking away vocational hands on from high schools
