Hitler effectively stopped the democratic election process in Germany by dismantling democratic institutions through a series of legal and extra-legal actions. The Enabling Act, granted him dictatorial power, allowing him to outlaw other parties and end free elections, transforming Germany into a one-party state. Hitler manipulated the system by using existing laws, like the Reichstag Fire Decree, to suspend civil liberties, and then secured a majority to pass the Enabling Act, eliminating opposition and making the Reichstag a rubber stamp for his rule. Sounds just like Trump and his Hitleresque authoritarian fascist dictatorship.
