The judge's ruling specifically stated that the prosecutor who brought the charges, Lindsey Halligan, "had no legal authority" to do so. Appeal the judge's ruling: The Justice Department can appeal the decision to a higher court, challenging the judge's interpretation of the law regarding the appointment of interim U.S. attorneys.
