It's bizarre that democrats are actually fighting to keep high crime rates.They don't to live in the neighborhoods where there are single mothers worrying if it's the night someone breaks in to harm her, or if her kids going to die while playing ball at the park. They don't care because they have security to escort them home. And have interns who may get robbed or shot fetching them groceries and take out.

Congress can extend the 30 days for 30 days at a time if its NOT enough time. The 1973 Home Rules Act - Section 740 gives congress the authority to extend the Federalization of DC police for 30 days at a time until the emergency is over and DC police are back in control of the streets.
