the reason they wanna do that is because those people who exploit the illegal people for unlivable wages get to pocket more taxpayers money because they don't match the social security that is supposed to be paid in with payroll checks and they also don't carry workman's comp insurance on those illegal workers so basically those illegal people are getting benefits that they are not paying into the system to support while the companies that hire them are keeping the lions share of money generated by the work,while legal US citizens deal with being just unemployed and homeless or they apply for social security with a mental illness because the last 30 years has been a slow steady decline because they worked they're ass off to compete with this problem while they watched illegal Mexicans undertake the construction industry...there's more to it but you get the point.

Because illegal immigrants will work for lower wages with zero coverage of any benefits. if one of them cuts off a finger there's no workman's comp, therefore the employer doesn't pay workman's comp insurance. honestly I'm very surprised that these companies that hire all these illegal immigrants are not prosecuted. My union construction workers make over $100/hour. I have to compete against $8/hour illegals. I also have to pay their taxes and SS. Workman comp is figured by payroll as well as liability if a contractor even has insurance. Check out the building collapses in NYC. Always nonunion, fly by night, contractors.

American people no matter what they are paid will not thin fruit off trees it is paid per tree and hard to learn, get out in the fields and pick vegetables and fruit in the hot sun and get filthy dirty, pick peaches off the trees and get paid by the bin I did it I made $8.00 a day I was to slow at it I couldn’t just throw the ladder leg and run up it had to make sure it wasn’t going to fall and had to keep checking ring for size. The workers that had been doing it for years got 10 bins to my half a bin.

well, as a middle class person I tend to agree with hawley, but that's only a small part of the problem. I think the biggest problem is people are not able to fully use their talents because of some unknown reason. They say the system is broken, so fix it, not that it is broken but miss utilized by the upper echelon. The military is a prime example of personnel not being able to utilize their talents. The military needs good leaders.
