I use to get $75 for my child support a month. My rent cost $650. That’s not counting food, groceries, car payment to take him where he needed to go and clothes. Haircuts.
They better raise the amount of child support because it takes more than 50 or $75 or $200 a month to be raising a kid it’s called support not child full financial responsibility. Watch a bunch of fathers tried to raise their kids all by themselves while mom waits for CPS to step in. Oh wait CPS doesn’t do anything important to protect kids.
I think that’s very fair. That’s the way it should be if the man is supporting the child he needs to be able to claim the child.
Which is giving crazy! If I’m the custodial parent, I make idk 65k annually and pay all the household bills, school lunches, sports, etc but the noncustodial parent pays say $600 a month. Why tf would that noncustodial parent get to claim them on taxes? I provide way more than half of that child’s support/living expenses.

That’s crazy because if a baby daddy is on Child Support and he’s not taking care of Child Support, how are you gonna tell me that if I income tax that I can’t anymore only the person is paying child support. That’s not gonna work cause half of these men don’t even have a child Social Security card number. I wish my baby dad would try thatone of us being in jail. One will be sitting in the hospital because you barely give your support so how are you gonna file income tax?

Will they have to prove they are paying child support? My ex had his salary garnished by the court, and then he would quit the job. it would take years to get the garnishment changed to his new job.
that makes no sense. child support never covers all the cost of supporting a child first of all. secondly, the person who has custodial care does more work to raise the children then the person who writes the check. is this real?

No, federal law did not change so that only the person paying child support can claim the child on their taxes. This is a false rumor that has spread on social media. In fact, federal tax rules give priority to the custodial parent for claiming a child as a dependent.

As a child my mom raised 5 kids with NO child support and she was married to our father. He just walked away like we didn't exist..and yes I'm grown I know but I still feel the pain..but my mom worked hard and she made us proud.He really missed out on some great kids..His lost..

my ex didn't work much so he didn't have to pay much. They charged him to pay 10.00 a week for two kids and I had to provide proof I was spending that on the kids. this law would be outrageous. He was friends with the mayor and other influencers in the town.

So you have a parent paying $140 a month in child support doesn’t have a presence in the child’s life and the parent who gets no help from the government having to pay to keep a roof over the child’s head, electricity, provides all the health care, food, clothes, school supplies, activities, and some how it’s right that the parent paying child support should claim taxes. And it’s a lot of people who would say this is fair.
That's the way it should have always been. Crazy people out there just having babies instead of working is wrong and makes you lower than any lowlife. I feel sorry for the children. The children should be taken away from these women who are just baby factories.

That sounds fair but if they don’t pay then ??? And there is alot of that in the country.. think we need stiffer rules to paying child support and then they deserve for partial claiming.. what is designated in most “poverty” paying situations is not enough to provide what a child needs especially person receiving support has to provide insurance there’s nothing left to provide for child out of that $$.. system needs really vamped up all way around..

lol😁I know someone at my last job who deserves this karma since that person bragged about getting extra money in child support each month. the dads that are paying out of their pockets for this should be able to claim the taxes at the end of the year. some mothers take advantage of the child support money and the tax money they get at the end of the year.

My husband and I had to pay $350 weekly and cover the insurance. Their mom made as much money as my husband, but used her money on drugs. She took my husband to court saying he didn't pay the medical/dental payments. We knew NOTHING about them. We got the bills and insurance paid their part. It was up to her insurance to pay the balance as per court order she was supposed to put them on her insurance as secondary. Well, she didn't. She then took all 3 kids back to the Orthodontist and had the braces Removed! Told them their dad refused to pay his part! Offered to prove her wrong with the court order and insurance documentation but they refused to see it. As a result, my husband no longer has a relationship with his now grown biological kids. Only blessing, they are out if state! Yeah, she really used that money for the kids???!!!
