As a retired college professor I implore those seeking higher education to understand that wisdom can never he taught and that it’s only gained through knowledge and experience, and more importantly through moral virtue!

College doesn’t teach anything anymore
Depending on the field college can be beneficial. Medical doctors, people in the sciences are good example of where a degree is needed. Some fields like education a lesser degree with an apprenticeship style employment is recommended. You don’t need a doctorate or a masters to teach elementary school. Trade schools should be encouraged for those that are desiring to pursue those fields. I barely graduated high school. I was lazy and did not care. Join the service, and went back to school to get a college degree. I realize quickly that was not the path for me. I did exceptionally well in college, but it was not the path for me. A degree from a university/college does not equate to intelligence. I have met many people who have college degrees but can’t function outside of what their degree is. That’s not intelligence that’s training/programming.

Unfortunately my daughter went to college for 4 years and couldn’t find a job so now see is working somewhere in not her field. I'll tell you in certain Fields the college is a scam because I used to know one gentleman who graduated with a four-year degree chemistry. his best offer was $15 an hour, at that time I tried to encourage him to come to my job which was paying $18 an hour. but he felt bad because his degree would be wasted. so he never came and now today he is poor.
what university did George Washington, or Thomas Jefferson, Wait Theodore Rosevelt, Franklin Delanor Rossevelt, Taft, or Kenedy. they had they jobs without special pay cause they loved America.
