She shouldn't have stolen the car in the first place. Secondly she should have pulled over when the red and blues lit up. Thirdly the officers could have gone for tires or radiator. Both sides did wrong things.
She deadass panicked!! She was terrified! She was trying to cooperate, but her nerves got the best of her. The officers should be held accountable and need better training

I didn’t see anyone in imminent harm, unless she pulled out a gun inside her car which we can’t see. No one was in front of her vehicle. The officer looked to be at about 2:00 from her position. And she wasn’t turning her wheels toward the officer. She was definitely a danger and should be in jail, but I think the officer could have held off on shooting her.
Now the libs are gonna compare this to the ice car shooting, that was justified but this one was not in any way
I was born in E. St. Louis & raised in Washington Park. The best decision my parents ever made was to move us the hell out of there when I was 6 years old because crime was getting so bad. That was in 1965, and I wouldn't drive down Forrest Blvd todsy with a fully equipped security detail at high noon. It's sad that I will never be able to go back there. I left some good memories there, too, along with the bad ones. I'm thankful I left there alive.

not life threatening I know people who have done a lot worse and the police didn't shoot them. It's interesting to see these videos I know a few people who fled from cops with a gun in hand. They were not killed I definitely believe race is an issue in these events.
Note to all the idiots out there. When you weaponize your vehicle and ram police officers, you're likely to be shot, because they are entitled to protect themselves and go home safely to their families.
I'm not a cop but I have common sense in the police academy they make it known to the officers in training a car is considered a weapon and if it in any way can cause you physical harm you or in your rights to use lethal Force sometimes cops will place themselves right in front of your vehicle hoping you proceed towards them and then they shoot you legally if you notice in some of these pictures the cops were to the side of the vehicle they weren't straight in front of it but when the vehicle took off all they got to say is I didn't know if they going to attempt to hit me or swerve so I didn't take a chance and I usually Force you can't win it's just like if you have a gun in your hand and you told to drop it and you don't you're done they can lie and say anything but that gun is there and that's their strength

Contray to some peoples beliefs, the cops don't ride around looking for people to shoot. There are consequences to actions. Had she of been where she was supposed to be.....none of this could've happened. Common sense tells you that if her mom reported the car stolen....she didn't have permission. Once you start down that road......things like this could happen.

I think the woman put herself in this situation by consciously waking up everyday choosing to steal to get by or to do wrong things,I am a father of three beautiful daughters and I couldn't imagine putting them in harms way even though I'm no saint and I've had my fair share of dumb choices but when you have kids you grow and do better so to say the officers did wrong in a situation they were forced into id say no,I will say the officer who fired will already have to deal with his choice he made and weather it was the right one himself unfortunately she doesn't get too but they both woke up and made choices that day unfortunately his was on the right side of the law!!! we have great local police and agencies that want the same things as we do!!! why?? because we all live here together and are tired of seeing crime and overdose.
This makes me sick. I've been to east saint and chalie Edgemont.. never ever have the police ever messed with me. They did pull me to the side in Washington park asking why I was down in that area being a white woman. Because obviously I have no racial children and my ex husband and his family are from down there. Guess they thought I was seeking out some type of drug. no you can get those anywhere lmao.. he proceeded to tell me to leave that neighborhood because I was not safe lol I'm safe anywhere I go down there they just don't understand the people I know. I've watched all the body cams and videos and I pray they charge him with Rachel's death. Bet her mom didn't expect to lose her child because she called the car in stolen. And she has my deepest sympathies I am so sorry. I know that was not what you thought the outcome would be. They give these thug ass police took much power!! Even in Vandalia where I live I did 19 months in prison and my dad passed 90 days before I came home it

Yeah ok she was wrong for alot, but they shot her and their lives were not threatened. They shot through the side, she wasn't running them over, she hit their cars, and they were not in danger. This is a training moment, and a cop should be charged. Unnecessary, and unfortunately they will get away with it.
