I'd rather have my town invaded by thousands of ICE agents rather than thousands of illegal aliens who do not share my American morals, values, or principles. I feel the exact same way about my country.
This mayor has shown his incompetence and lack of credibility. He should be showing some leadership skills and telling residents to stop protesting and interfering with the jobs of federal employees.

Illegal immigrants should be caught, tried, and deported, it’s our law…ICE agents should not be terrorizing people by acting as if they are some kind of federal swat team…if they did their jobs better they should be able to track down illegal immigrants and arrest them at their residences, peacefully…the way they are operating now it seems like they think they are the new regulators which, as history shows, will cause the creation of new moderators…using extreme methods is not in their jurisdiction…during Obama’s presidency over 3 million illegal immigrants were deported without the show of extreme force ICE agents are currently displaying…however, if the illegal immigrant is hostile, a danger to the public, and to law enforcement, the agents should be allowed to do what they have to do to protect themselves and the public within the boundaries of the law…

a city that big and they have only 600 cops? let's break this down....3 shifts. (600 ÷ 3 = 200 per shift),,, take away a chunk of that per shift who are on their off day, might leave 175 per shift, then account for call offs for sick days, maybe a few more for vacation days and you might have 150 per shift. then how many actual policemen who work solely indoors,,, that doesn't leave many actually on patrol in a city of approximately 60 square miles. no wonder it's a shit show up there,,, not enough cops

It's because the City has ordered it officers not to assist their fellow law enforcement officers in any way, not even to have the federal officers backs when they come under attack. I recognize that the rank and file members of the local law enforcement agencies are trying to keep their jobs and maintain a paycheck to support their families but... to stand by and watch as fellow law enforcement officers come under attack and do nothing.... that's bad karma. Doing what's right could cost your job but there are plenty of LEO jobs out there where the officers are supported by their government agencies and their communities and where upholding the law for all still matters.
