I’m disabled and get ssi and SNAP. Yes, November is going to be tough on everyone but hopefully it’s a learning experience for some. I’ve only ever used my SNAP for food not sweets. I buy my meat at a butcher shop that takes EBT and I clip coupons. If you need something sweet buy it boxed (boxed brownie or cookie) it makes more and last longer. Have a Friendsgiving where everyone brings 1 time so the pressure isn’t placed on one person. The Friendsgiving can be applied to everyday life maybe you have sides available and your neighbor has a protein to go with it, share. If you have a car look for a food bank that’s open Mon thru Fri don’t hit up the ones that are only open 1 day a week. The lines will be long and it’s easier for the elderly and people without cars to go to the ones in small towns. If we are still shut down for December remember whole turkey will be pennys on the dollar buy a few if you or a friend has freezer space.

I am reading some ignorant comments here. Many rely on SNAP benefits to put food on the table even though they work. Some don’t make enough to provide enough food for the family. Food prices are increasing all the time. I recently retired and my income decreased. Luckily I still have enough to pay bills and buy groceries. I am lucky!

My mother was a single working mom with 5 kids..never once did she get food stamps. we never got soda, cookies, chips, or other luxury food items. No wonder our country has so many obese kids.
So instead of spending months arguing about the loss of them..why aren't they sitting down to figure out all the corruption happening with them..and make people accountable! The ones accountable should be DSS..How about people using them submit receipts every month! That can show them buying lobster..steaks, etc..
my son gets $290/mos..so why the discrepancy in numbers..I think looking at the graph per state..each state should be responsible for how much they give out and to whom..maybe then they would be doing it with more precision..people are selling the stamps as a bargaining tool for multiple things..some want to buy a hot pizza or rotisserie chicken but hot meals aren't allowed! Some are selling them for drugs/ cigarettes..some are selling them for hairdos, makeup,weeves, nails, clothes, etc. Yes there is massive fraud..Quite a bit are fully capable of working! It has nothing to do with a person hair color, nose rings, wigs or weave. And just think about all the government employees with no jobs either and they are not getting paid either so what did they do to deserve this either to be able to feed their children.We need to quit pointing the finger at people and we all know who's the blame. The elderly has worked all their lives to now be old and no unable to eat. The disabled child did what to now put the parent to choose their treatment or food to keep them alive. A grand parent who is raising her grandchildren because the parents were killed by an accident or an illness and this is her only way to provide for them. We all deserve to eat everyday.
So many people are missing the whole point on here. Have you all thought about the people who is elderly, disabled, raising disabled children, raising grandchildren, or taking care of their elderly parents and they are working, receiving little to no help or maybe they have to pay for expensive medications or expensive treatments. There are some people that their jobs don't offer benefits or they can't afford it because they need all their money to provide for their families.
Come in now Democrats those babies need their formula, the elderly needs to eat and just so many families period. This is truly sad.

I work on call 24/7 and barely can pay my bills I don’t have nice vehicles I don’t have a nice house but I keep the lights on for my kids and wife. We do have ebt and it helps so much but now I don’t know what we are gonna do we usually still have to go to food banks to make it after we run out.
