Republicans need 60 votes to pass the bill to open the government back up and the Democrats are the ones holding the American people hostage, because they refuse to sign it because they want 1.5 trillion dollars added to the deficit of which not one red cent would go to help Americans. In fact, they want that money to be given to LGBTQI initiatives and climate change initiatives in foreign countries. Republicans aren't going to back down or give in to the demands of Democrats, and they shouldn't. Democrats are trying to extort the American taxpayers, while Republicans are trying to protect the citizens. So, this is, in fact the Democrats fault. If people would take the time to review statistics, a large portion (around 40%) of SNAP recipients are children. 30% are either elderly or disabled. The majority of the remaining percentage DO work full-time. The ones that don't are employed part-time, students, caregivers, or have a spouse that works while they watch the children, since there ARE work requirements to receive SNAP benefits. Now tell me, if someone works full-time, and still can't afford bills, rent, and food, do you think they should starve? Is it their fault, or maybe the fact that while the prices of literally EVERYTHING have risen over the years, minimum wage has NOT. Should seniors, disabled, and children starve? Or do you think they should get a job too?🙄

Everybody keeps bringing up minimum wage but out here in Idaho we have full employment and all the fast foods are starting at $15. The Feds should not be involved in Welfare. It should be local; NGOs, Churches, fraternal organizations etc. That way the overhead will be so low to nonexistent and we will be less and our national debt would be eliminated quickly. As a by product it would take care of our crime problem and Fathers not being in the home. Moms will be selecting their baby's Fathers that will stay in the home and not be in jail. He will then want to support them. We need leaders everywhere to make this popular and desirable everywhere!
