If he really wanted to make a statement with the Californians who he harmed all these years, then the smarter thing to do would be to suspend any state income taxes until the government shut down is resolved. Sending the California guards to help with food banks does nothing for the majority of the state residence.

A substantial portion of California population, depending on 'Food Banks' for substance, is in itself, a 'Declaration' of just how close so many, under the control of socialism, are from starvation. Americans should receive a "Tax Credit" on their next paycheck, for 'Free Services' not rendered to some unfortunate recipients that don't want responsibility for their own personal well-being. This is a perfect opportunity to overhaul a system designed for temporary aid, with lifetime memberships, while reducing the tax liability to hard working Americans just trying to pay the bills.

People love to complain about their taxes without realizing how little of it actually goes to helping families. Less than 2¢ of every federal tax dollar goes to food assistance programs like SNAP and WIC. The rest funds things like the military, infrastructure, healthcare, education, Social Security, and national security. So no—you’re not ‘feeding someone else’s kids.’ You’re contributing to a system that keeps the country running. And helping families eat is one of the smallest parts of that, but easily one of the most meaningful.
