This is funny. If you’re black this is called “ghetto “ but you’re white you’re just…..poor…more than half of yall literally lived this life. Stay humble.
besides the bath water situation I been in all dat but I remain greatful shiiid u didnt know u were poor we were well aware of wat we had
wearing tube socks for gloves in winter while sledding on a trash bag.
yes, atleast people knew what gender they were. when a woman was a woman and a man was a man NO IDEOLOGY
I would actually
I still do some of these now a days. not broke or poor, just makes sense, if you get it, you get it.
Hell yeah I would I miss thoughts day People judged less
I would do it all over again . I never forgot what I learned as a kid ,makes me thankful for what I have now .
i would go back people had morals a mans word meant something every one prayed and we stuck together this world today keep it
I would trade everything now for those days, again because the one thing I will always have that means more to me than money is my relationship with my lord and savior Jesus
Without a doubt. There are many things money cant buy, safe neighborhoods and human decency to name a few.
I live the same as when I grew up and I'm not poor today.
Yes Yes Yes !!!
I would go back to them days in a heartbeat. plus I would love to see how my kids dealt with it. lol
poor, no. We grew up skimping through life. And, those TV dinners aren't saving you any money.
yes my kids say the same
I would in a heartbeat
so am I poor or not
In a heartbeat 🥰
Hell yes
yes I would in a heartbeat
No and I would do it all again that’s how I learned the way to love and not be a jerk
Sharing the bath water is just fucking diabolical😭😭
how hold up, who the hell uses same bath water
We had to mix powdered milk with real milk. make it stretch from three gallons to six gallons...🤔
you're saying alot, children are spoiled today
Yes they where more learning time for me and I appreciate the friendships I had.
absolutely 💯
hell no
Yes
I would. it built character and shaped me into the person I am today. it taught me not to take things for granted and made me appreciate everything I have today.
We had a slice of heaven and didn't know..Might had been tuff,But it was peaceful..🤝
We ate cereal with a fork so we could save the milk. When we changed underwear, I changed with my brother and he changed with my sister. We were so poor, my sister had to stay pregnant just so we had milk in the house.😂😂😂
Generic brand, yellow packaging with plain black lettering. And powdered milk instead of real milk on a carton.
the good old days
the toilet thing i didn’t do but a lot of these, yes.
best child hood ever id go back in a heartbeat
hell yeah
wow,
Yes
yes if u were hungry you'd eat left overs
Always filled up the name brand boxes with generic. Reduced shower time. Clothes line to dry. Baked bread, not store bought. Shared butchered meat with neighbors. Hand-me-downs. No field trips. Taught how to work on house and car and took ALOT of shortcuts. Bologna bowls. Hunting with friends and family and be willing to dress.
growing up with money makes weak characters. growing up without much makes you come back stronger because you had to deal with problems before so your ready for most things to happen.
what's worse? growing up knowing you're poor, or growing up thinking you're poor and finding out your parents actually had money later on in life. they were just alcoholics and bad at management. like I grew up on sandwiches, I don't think I really had too many normal meals. after I became an adult I went back and looked at what my parents were doing for work and all this other stuff. these mfers were upper middle class. but living like they were in poverty. like both parents were pulling 7K a month easily back in the early '90s, which is basically like 13,000 now.
KFC on Sundays were special meal. 😭😭
I mean shit that was a nice house.
ai🥀
yes i would
Still have scars on my ears from mama's at home haircuts. Also making a big ass pot of spaghetti last all week!
yes I would
so now yall wanna push the lie that wt people struggled 🙄🙄
yes
