I'm 23 did all that with my great grandma but the bathrooms situation hell no she would fill the tub 2 inches and use water down hand soap for the bubble bath and scrubbing damn Its hard to hold back tears the amount of joy and fun I had with her was the best but didn't last for long but in my child mind I thought Grandmas were forever I still live by her rules and style haha I'm 23 with a 1920 or 30s great grandma mindset now I need to go make peach cobbler in respect

every time it snowed out overnight me, my brother and my sister were to set an alarm for 5 to shovel the driveway and the end of driveway where the snowplow man plowed. for our stepdad so he could just pull out of the driveway for work. we also loved to stand behind his truck while it was warming up and huff the exhaust. I miss the good old days. kids don't grow up so fast and make sure you hug and spend as much time with your parents as possible because one day you will never see them again.
Yes they where more learning time for me and I appreciate the friendships I had.

Always filled up the name brand boxes with generic. Reduced shower time. Clothes line to dry. Baked bread, not store bought. Shared butchered meat with neighbors. Hand-me-downs. No field trips. Taught how to work on house and car and took ALOT of shortcuts. Bologna bowls. Hunting with friends and family and be willing to dress.
we didnt have to share bath water.... but we never had hot water. Had to boil it on the stove if you wanted a warm bath. used to keep water in the fridge so it didnt freeze in the winter, because we had no heat.
I would trade everything now for those days, again because the one thing I will always have that means more to me than money is my relationship with my lord and savior Jesus
