no matter the wrong; they don't have the right to hit. put yourself or yours under arrest; and let them punch you.
Report them but not to their department. Report them to the FBI or someone above there commanding officer. This kinda stuff needs to stop. They will lie and cover each other. Anything that's reported to internal affairs won't do any good. That ends up going in the trash. It's a trick they use on people. They want you to feel like you did something.
