Don't knock joint custody. My ex-husband and I did this in the 70's and 80's, making sure we each lived near the kids schools. The rain jackets weren't always at the right house at the right time... But we both wanted our children to have both parents in their lives. Our kids are now in their '50s and we still have one holiday a year together So the cousins can know each other and all their grandparents. I do think it takes very mature parents to make this work, and neither parent can be a danger to the children.
You should have a bedroom for them in your home they shouldn't be having to pack back and forth they should have a room in both homes That's how you eliminate all this s***

my granddaughter divorced her husband 10 yrs ago and they co parented beautifully until a couple of years ago. they are both military and lived close to each other. Last year he got stationed on the east coast and REMARRIED his ex after my daughter Raised his older daughter for 13 yrs . Now the girls are separated and his daughter wants to be with my baby and her sister. she really doesn't know her birth mom that well . so sad..
very sad. Children are used as Pawns so much in a divorce....I haven't seen my youngest Grandson in 8 years. she even changed his middle (for his dead Uncle) and his last name. ..she didnt want any part of the Holston name.....

My son's father was military and not always around. But, we lived in the same city as all the grandparents. I made sure my son spent just as much time with his paternal grandparents as he did mine.

My niece and nephew have bedrooms at both parents home, but my SIL wants the clothes she sent the kids in last week to sent back the next week. She has to get them ready for school so when they leave their nice clothes at Dads it’s hard on her. It looks to me like he’s bagging up what they left last wk??? Idk either way, I wish my dad had made even 1/10 of the effort this dad is making!
Thank you and praise this gentleman and father. Knowing spending time with his children is more important than them packing their bags. Those memories will be more important to the children than . I've seen my grandkids yes but now they their mom is no longer talking to me it broke my heart that they were not going to be allowed to see me on Christmas it just took all the joy out of my day , but they did call me.
He wash the clothes pack them up do they can have clean clothes to return so there won't be no problem with the ex.

Ga no longer has grandparents rights it tucked i was took away from 3 grandchildren today 2 will not even talk to me I am not alive patent should work together. even u cant live together least work fir the kids live close to each other. joint is better than one having full unless there a reason one parent shouldnt this hard every time
