When my son was young, he thought it was hilarious to whack people in their junk. Tried explaining to him thats not something you do to people. One time, I had enough. He punched me in the junk and I whacked him in his. We both laid on the floor for a few minutes and came to an understanding. Never happened again

I know it looks terrible but that's the method I pretty well used with my kids too. It's an older way of discipline. It was relatively effective, and I don't think the parents of today's children have any such tremendous success that they can point us to say that the old way was worse, because I'm not impressed with their results.

my first son...of four sons...was 2 yrs old try to hit me...I held his little arms and firmly said no ...he stopped and I had no issues with him ever trying to hit me again. I found that I didn't need to mimic his behavior to get him to stop
