My daughter was born with dark hair and her skin was dark but the skin was dark due to being bruised all over her body from her toes to the top of her head because of the horrendous birth. I remember the remark one of my husband's relatives made after coming to the hospital to see our first born baby and looking straight at my husband after giving me a dirty look she said "are you sure this dark skinned baby is your's?" Oh boy did that tear into me like a sharp knife. She has never been a close family member since that day. When you go through 40 hrs of labor and finally deliver the 10lb baby you're tired and not up for that kind of BS.
