When my former husband shaved his mustache I was at the store. when I walked in I said 3 words to him. GROW IT BACK. He did.
He should have had them with him when he shaved it off. Then they would not be so shocked.
The problem is that’s too big of a change to just snap on them. Put yourself in their shoes. All they know is you with a beard/ hair on your head. It would be a total shock and children don’t process things like adults it takes much more time.
