I solved the problem for my children when they were two years old. My wife and I have a typical heterosexual relationship, but I made it clear to my children that not every boy likes girls and not every girl likes boys and some like both and some like neither. I made it clear that no matter what the gender of the person that they loved was, and I would always love my children and I would accept the other person as long as they treated them well and with respect I understand that it doesn't completely eliminate any of the anxiety, but at least it will reduce the concern about being accepted and loved by their parents.
