The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things ...this encounter can be terminated at anytime.Courts have bolstered this by saying that the home and its curtiledge( the area immediately surrounding the home eg porch ) had special protections and indeed the is most protected under the 4th amendment. she can terminate this consensual conversation at anytime especially if there are no exergent circumstances for the police to enter or even hold this person from going about their day no less in their own home!
