Good job by the homeowner. Don't allow cops into your home without a judicial warrant. If you have the ability, talk to cops from inside your home through an Intercom or screen door, don't volunteer to come outside when asked because cops can find a reason to justify using force or detaining you in handcuffs in the interest of their "safety" or claim they feared for their safety. No warrant, no entry
