There is no such thing as a "body" warrant. You have a warrant to physically arrest someone or to search the home. Either way a warrant was not shown before entering AND he almost arrested the wrong individual which would have been a lawsuit by itself. The due diligence of calling and confirming the status of "Dante" not "Deonte" should have been conducted before arriving at the residence. Simple check and balance🤷

first off he doesnt have the right to just walk in without physically showing a warrant for that particular address specifically stating the search of the premises. secondly; you dont have to show him anything unless you have committed a crime, suspected of having committed a crime. thirdly, the warrant must have the current name and spelling of said individual looking for. he would not have gotten in my house and I would have closed the door in his face and dared him to break in

In all honesty though, I know that we all wanna make each other aware of what rights we have in these types of situations, and that’s absolutely a first priority, no argument from me, but let’s also highlight how absolutely cordial, and professional that interaction was, the Officer came with respect, and was met with the same, this is how these interactions should always go, text book, I love that….

In the case of Payton v. New York (1980), the Supreme Court ruled that an arrest warrant is enough to enter the suspect's own home, provided they have a "reasonable belief" the person is inside. If a judge has already decided there is probable cause to arrest you, the police don't need a second "search" warrant to come into your house to get you. The arrest warrant implicitly carries with it the limited authority to enter.🤔
