he wasn't pulling his pants up he was trying to get space to draw his weapon as a retired police officer or actually anyone that has a clear train of thought can see that unfortunately the suspect did indeed lose his life but his actions did indeed dictate his outcome

Multiple things about this are both dumb and true. This kid was not reaching for that gun, he was holding his pants up as he ran. At the same time, this was a valid shot. B/c running with a gun in your waistband, what is the officer supposed to think in the heat of the moment? - This kid should not have had a weapon in the first place nor should he have ran. Without these two things, he'd be alive.

it's amazing how many opinionated persons there are with low IQ. if you look and one important thing in the officer camera that was chasing him you will notice immediately that the officer shot him in the back. Second there was no immediate danger of the officer being harmed in any way because the suspect was running.Third, it is not illegal to carry a firearm in the state of Colorado provided that you have a permit hear the officer did not have that knowledge. Fourth , violations of the procedure of the Colorado textbook clearly states no officer shall shoot an individual in the back while that individual is running.🤔 Go ahead and opinionated on that

maybe he was holding his pants up, but on the run police officer didn't know if he's holding up his pants up or pulling out his gun. put yourself in that officer place, wouldn't you want to go home that night the same way you left

why wasn't he tazed instead of shot.

the police shot him in the back

Another idiot with an extended mag and most likely a switch. Great shoot. Threat nullified.

I love all the justifications, the complaints about how many times he was shot, the complaints about where he was shot, etc. He was a threat, he didn't respond to commands, and he reached for a gun where officers knew a gun was located. He got shot, he died, and every person is safer for it. Cops don't let people run away with guns and they certainly aren't going to wait until he's pulled it out and started shooting to respond. Wake the f up children.

I lost a lot of this when I was watching this

Don't drink and take drugs and have a loaded weapon while menacing bystanders it won't end well but it will end...

understand. My understanding is if a person is running away from you. How was he considered a threat? I was told that if your home is invaded and you shoot the intruder in the back or outside of the house, it means they were trying to leave. are no longer a threat to you. I am wrong for shooting that person in the back

he was pulling his pants up. not reaching for a gun

He ran probably because 1: the gun was illegal modified weapon 2: he was a felon 3: no permit, first they said it was in his waist band, then they said it was in his pants leg, shooting someone in the back while running away I’m conflicted, he wasn’t a danger plus 5 times in the back is over kill

🤷♂️

I swear, as soon as I spotted this guy, I knew he was the trouble maker. 👀

Truths... Comply! Don't walk around with a weapon drawn in the Springs! Potentially saved innocent bystanders! FAFO!

I'm amazed at some of ignorance of the comments by these couch potato lawyers & judges that it's obvious they have never been in a violent or life threatening situation..That they have never had to make a decision that resulted in loss of life. It's an officer's duty to protect not only himself but to citizens of that community..I'm sure they released this video to attempt to prevent riots, burning & looting..Several just look for a reason to cause turmoil.

they were close enough to aim at the legs.

Did he shoot him in the back while he was running away 🤔.??. I didn't see this man point the weapon at anyone. Yes, the cops knew he had a gun before they approached him, but he took off running not pointing at any of the officers 😕. They had planned to kill this dude as soon as they saw the weapon 👍.!!. Cops probably discussed which officer would do the actual shooting. We'll never know, most of the cops conversation wasn't heard 🤔.!!!.

This is the problem with guns, and I say this as a gun owner. Too many people are willing to try and settle any dispute with a gun. Traffic issue? Gun. DV? gun. Argument? gun Crappie neighbor? gun. They are used for 2 things hunting, and home defense. Your own personal home, where you have a right to defend yourself. And rifles for hunting.. people with short fuses and bad intentions should not own guns. and if they are used as conceal carry, the first rule is you do not draw a gun unless you intend to use it, the reason has to be justified. It's not rocket science. This is why we need reform, if you're not a dummy you have nothing to worry about.

The suspect should have not started running in the first place. should have just complied with the officers request, to put hands up. The shooting could have been avoided. Drink responsibly.

they could of shot his leg instead they shoot his back officers need more training and how to get a person to surrender . without killing him I personally think officers are at fault . and the police always get away with shootings all he did was run. I'm sure he didn't want to surrender cause he had gun on him. but they didn't have to shoot and kill him I'm very upset seeing this video.🤔

Why would he be armed with so many guns and he pulled them out at various times walking up to a group of people. you wanna play cops and robbers there’s consequence. and if you had no bad intentions with these weapons, why would you run from the cops? Why not keep your hands up as you were told to and allowed him to disarm you?

No one will miss him🪦⚰

It was a good shoot! The guy was a threat! He had a loaded gun! He was a felon! He could have shot 10 or more people

Had that guy pulled that weapon and turned to shoot. He would have sprayed bullets everywhere, killing many of the bystanders.

There's always someone who has to pull a gun out during verbal altercations.

act like a gangsta get treated like a gangsta

He was looking for trouble. HE FOUND IT.

He should have gone to Wisconsin. He could have received the Kyle Rittenhouse two killings treatment.

There are people who act as if they're not part of society. They live by their own rules like they're living in the wild.

cop was in right

What's the problem here? Wanna be all big and bad arguing with people with a gun? You pay the cost to be the boss. oh well

great job officers.

This was a tense and dangerous moment and time is moving fast. I don't agree with shooting people in the back, but I don't agree with angry people having guns out in public and obviously ready to use it. This is not a clear case, but it's not going to be questioned either.

I’m not taking sides here, just wanted to say something. I have a concealed carry permit and we were taught if the person was running away from you, there no longer a threat to you and deadly force cannot be used. maybe they can prove otherwise ? Pulling pants up ? Going for a gun ? Was he still a threat??

so he couldn't taser him or leg shot they aim to kill

That officer probably saved numerous lives.

the officer did nothing wrong although I can just hear it...shot in thr back. must be a black thing. However, hadhegotten away and went back to people hewas arguing with and took them out you all would be saying...why didn't they take him down when they could? All people, no matter what color, need to make decisions that don't get them gunned down! This falls on him and nottheofficers! if he hadn't had vuns...if he didn't run...thiswashis decion to lose his life and no one else's!

another gangbanger off the streets good.

don't run with a gun, pretty much common sense

OK, well, couldn't they have shot him in his legs?? Shooting center mass will kill someone. He wasn't shooting at anyone at the time. I mean, why kill the guy under these circumstances. This guy made a horrible mistake but why shoot to kill. Taking his legs out would have been enough.

First, he should not have had the gun, but he did. Second, he should not have had an illegal modified gun, but he did. Third, he shouldn't have run if he had nothing to hide or was in the wrong, but he did, and he was! The officers knew he had the gun and knew it was capable of firing a lot of rounds. The young man was running and reaching. These young people just need to STOP AND THINK! And people need to stop defending their wrong, yes wrong actions. Where has knowing right from wrong gone!🙏

He was running and trying to hold his pants up so he wouldn't trip.. he was trying to get away

Instructions " hands up", action raise hands, result in NOT GETTING YOUR ASS SHOT OFF! The idiots that don't follow orders UNDER police orders, CHOOSE TO GET SHOT!

Nobody should be shot in the back by a coward regardless. He shouldn’t have had the gun, he shouldn’t have ran but the gun wasn’t in his hand and he was running away so there wasn’t any threat.

Sure is a lot of BS explanation and commentary just for a simple video. I suppose they’re hyper fearful of upsetting a certain demographic. A demographic that I would have bet money on being involved before ever seeing the video. It’s time for our cities and society in general to stop treating these incidents with kidd gloves. Like the incident that occurred in Cincinnati, these situations have to be handled with uniformity and without prejudice as to offending any segment of society. The community in question is without a doubt, overwhelmingly responsible for the majority of occurrences like this and it will never stop until it is addressed as such.

🤔🤔😲😲😲👍🙏

Looking at the video with absolutely no preconceived notions, it looked like he was putting his hands in front of himself, where he had just stashed said gun. Sorry but, if he had just stayed calm, kept his hands in the air while facing the officer, he would have lived longer. I put myself in his shoes and thought to myself, if I did what he did, I would have gotten shot. Furthermore, even if legal to carry a concealed firearm, it’s not usually permitted on the grounds of any business that sells alcohol for in premise consumption. To his loved ones, I’m very sorry for your loss.

you wanna play a tough guy in the real world, you better be able to pull the trigger faster than the law, but the law don't play wannabe gunfighter, they are professional gunfighters.

so much to say😆😆😆 should he have been shot.. no.. did he.. yes.. that's unfortunate.. dude ran knowing what was gonna happen.. he knew he was going to get shot cause he had a gun.. here's my thing.. all the use of deadly force investigationa I've seen.. this was the first time they included or even used the.. I believe he said rtcc.. the cameras everywhere through out Colorado springs.. there are cameras everywhere.. and every sheriffs office and police station has a live feed command center.. how come we don't see this in all u.d.f investigations.. riddle me this while you're at it.. where ever there is a police station.. there also is a court house.. anyone know why??😆😆😆

No need to shoot that man smh

The Gun Wasn't Even In His Waist Band.

He was most likely pulling up his pants so he can continue running!Needs a thural investigation!

Good job officers.

that's a heavy pistol and when running can be hard to keep in place without a holster. was probably trying to keep the pistol in place while running.

only the guilty and terminally stupid run from the police

Officer did only thing possible in this situation otherwise not only the officers lives were in danger but all the innocent people in the Area. Prayers 🙏🏼 for young man that passed 🙏🏼🙏🏼 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏 Only God Should Judge Him and what motivated him to display such acts of Violence…. We should all Pray🙏🏼 for his Soul, I know I will…
