What supposed good cop would threaten to shoot someone in the face and they're just sitting in the car. At that point I know he could see the guys hands. That wasn't a cop talking that was fear.
Cop asked to see his hands, person complied. The cop opened the man's car door without permission. Next the cop goes ballistic and vulgar. Needs some serious attitude adjusting.

The cop tried to open his door and he pulled it closed. That made the cop escalate...
I've worked with drunk people and every time is different. I don't like what the deputy did, but don't know the whole thing.
driver kept reaching with his right hand. Driver ignored the Officer and Closed his door when the officer attempted to open it, having every right, based on suspicion of dui to remove him from the vehicle. Cop tried nice and was ignored, making the situation potentially dangerous for both driver and Officer. The Cop then used words that even this drunk could clearly understand. Suddenly, compliance is gained and no one is harmed. The Officer then returns to his casual, calm demeanor. Looks like a good job of keeping an intoxicated person from making a life altering decision by attempting to grab a weapon or running someone over in an attempt to leave.
With a gun in someone's face is not how you do your job. This man was totally inebriated, no threat to you. You handled this whole thing wrong.

I love how people are upset with this cop but not the drunk driver. This is just one of hundreds of people who endanger and kill innocent people every day.
The stop appears to be justifiable. However, that’s still a cop that has no business with a job. Escalating is exactly what they’re not supposed to do. Save the sword fighting and childish threats for the criminal that deserves it. I’m pretty sure this guy wasn’t much of a threat.

This happened to me and after I got released from jail I Sue that cop's police department for $44,550.00 and I won my lawsuit for excessive force. I just paid my car loan off.

I don't blame the officer. The stress of walking up on a vehicle is always life threatening. We have lost a lot of Police. I do feel he needs some counseling. Counseling should be a good thing. He has to take his stress home with him.
