They maintain order and make mistakes, and yes there are the few that exploit their power to enforce the law to hurt people but as someone with much family in blue I can say they are few and far between.

Are witnesses to horrifying crime scenes, they need so many prayers because they go through so much trauma!! Not just anyone can be a cop!! In my CCW class I was told to call for an ambulance for both yourself and the person who you took out. Same reason police officers are relieved of duty immediately after a shooting. it takes approximately 72 hours for your dopamine and adrenaline to get back to normal levels after a traumatic experience, like having to use deadly force! normally I wouldn't comment anything good about a police officer. but you can tell that this man takes his job seriously and what he just did means a lot to him. He's just not out here to try to take someone to life. It meant something to him that he got into a shoot out and possibly could have lost his own life and killed somebody else as well.

Cops have problems about shooting at people. They are not cold hearted or violent. If they shoot their gun in a shootout it only because they doing their job but may not like doing it. I hope he gets some counseling.

When I was a police officer, I was brutally assaulted by a man. I was fighting with him for 15 minutes before help came to us. It was another officer trying his best to get this man off of me. I had to have several surgeries after that. I really never understood how a victim felt until I became one. I suffered from PTSD from that. He died before we went to court and I was not mad because I was scared to face him again. No good officer wants to take a life.

Man I've seen this before. We were getting rpg'd in our FOB in Iraq and our buddy was missing at the meet up spot. I went to look for him and found him by a bag farm holding his weapon. Literally yelling in his face til he snapped out of it. It happens.

you can tell that he's obviously going to be traumatized.. and sadly this can be the reason for some of the unnecessary civilian shootings.. It makes sense why these officers would be scared and have PTSD after going through this.. I'm not taking up for the criminals at all.. I'm just saying I can see how this can create an officer that could potentially shoot unnecessarily at a suspect in the future.. it's scary and I don't know what the solution is.. I just hope this man gets therapy.. and I pray that he's okay after what he went through. it's a tough job and I have respect for the men and women that do it everyday
