My boss fired me when I was 5 months pregnant after working for him for 17 years. My pregnancy was a big shock after losing 2 pregnancies 13 years prior. I put in a complaint to the Human Rights Commission immediately. We went through all our savings when I finally found a job. No one hired me when they saw I was pregnant, and I had a great work history. The complaint with Human Rights took 6 years to adjudicate. I won my case against him. However, you have to have a lot of evidence to prove your case with them. It almost seems they are on the side of the perpetrator.
Hope she had some help where she was going. It's a lonely world out there when you need something & don't have much money, especially if you don't have a job or a place to live, or can't work because you're pregnant & need time for yourself & have baby to care for it. No one should be in a position to struggle to survive.
