My question is, why did he tell her to order more food so she didn't have to cook the next day then he leaves without paying? Now he was in the wrong for that, However, she's also in the wrong for asking a stranger (her date) to pay for her children's meals, that's her responsibility, not his. Maybe somewhere in the future, he has a decent heart and may get the children something, but on his own time IF he sticks around. Never on the first date girl, you don't even know the dude that well.
