I'mma black man and I honestly don't believe that was done intentionally. If you pay close attention to how he had engaged the black man initially unlike his fellow white comrades the two had more of an extended dialog that clearly looked quite cordial. Whatever was said as they shook hands it clearly distracted the man's thought of rendering a military style salutation. However the guys he did managed to solute they were pretty much standing in a different formation and had a very different approach that appeared to be more of an opportunity to keep things formal.
