Here in NJ we have gas station attendants that pump gas for you 24/7. Never had to face an issue like this.

I used to pump gas when I was 19, back in "73. Also checked oil, and cleaned windshields with a squeegee! I was rhe only girl in our whole area rhat did that job! t The guys lived it, but got lots of dirty looks from wives and girlfriends🤣 Just doing my job to pay for school, and always had full tank of gas and free maintenance!!👍😆

I just used the gas pump, Mardi Gras in New Orleans brings out the savages, drunken and druggies, creeps and some people see a woman and think easy prey. My Dad was a military veteran starting to teach me how to aim and hit my targets at 5 years old, at 8 or 10, he bought me a Benjamin great rifle. BB or Pellet, then got 410 gauge shotgun, then 20 gauge & .38 snub nose. He took me with him hunting and fishing. Learned to read compass and learned the woods. Skinning squirrels, deer, catfish and other game. He told me there's all kinds of weapons. Learned to change my own tires, batteries, set light beams, fan belts, oil, etc. on cars, lawnmower blades, motorcycles. Women do not trust or feel you need to be "nice" or polite. I keep a Zippo lighter with me, the flame stays lit, better than those useless Bic lighters. Gasoline in the face and eyes will usually be all you need but try to avoid those places at night, unless you don't mind paperwork and questions. Keep your gas tank over half
