I was taught how to safely set a broken bone, how to handle a snake bite victim and how to dress wounds, all by 3rd grade In SCHOOL! Not by my parents, they worked. I was a latch key kid who lived in the country til 11 yrs old. Moved to the bay area where I set my sister's arm twice in 2 yrs.

By the time my youngest niece was 4 she knew her parents' legal names and their address and telephone numbers for her parents. I was taken to the hospital by ambulance. When I'd fallen I'd hit my head and was a bit confused. To distract myself from the siren I asked if little often knew their parents names. He said most kids say their parents names are Mommy and Daddy until they're 10 or more.
My son and daughter have epilepsy my granddaughter would run and hide during a seizure, after witnessing many,my granddaughter would help to make sure everything was ok during the seizure.
my son was 5 and had to give me an insulin shot once. he was a champ. long B4 the pens came out.

The cop reassuring after he took care of mom was so good! Even as an adult is scary to call police and feel like u did the right thing! Which u hear him ask, meaning he was terrified in his choice. This will help the child with confidence, that was very wonderful of the policeman! 💕

Good job for these youngsters. They’ve been taught what to do in an emergency , might have been scared but what they were taught and live of parent took precedence over fear. The officers gave assurance that they did a good job and Mimi’s still with them. They comforted each other. God bless that family .

poor kids, scared and terrified for their mom. thank goodness these two kids knew what to do. the police officer was awesome. high fiving them letting them know mom was okay.
You don't have to be educated to love, you might not be able to read or write, But LOVE and KINDNESS can turn a person LIFE around. You see how the cop and grandparents were showing love ,and telling the kids about the great job, which will have those kids pay attention even more. Common sense and taught sense.

we had Red Cross Safety classes in 4th grade. we were smart, now kids are super smart, which should be 3rd grade now. color does not show brains. comments like this showed your common senses never showed up.
