Raccoons seldom "attack" adult cats. They sometimes will prey upon (eat) young kittens in a nest, though. The big thing is rabies. Raccoons are a >major< rabies carrier species; both your domestic cats and dogs are at risk if they interact wild a wild raccoon. It goes without saying, your pets should be vaccinated. Its foolish to feed wild creatures like these. Deride this comment all you want, but "keeping" a raccoon is absolutely illegal in my state for >exactly< that reason. [Granted, we have a very high rabies incidence in ND.] Allow your pets interaction with such only after thinking about that, and remember your own subsequent risk, too.

Yes they do I witness on my ring camera about 5 yrs ago attack neighbors cat hoarder's cat that on my patio sleeping 3 big raccoons attacked it was horrible at 2.30 am to watch the poor cat screaming and trying to get away. If you are feeding them outside all know nds of critters come and find the food even coyotes.

Nice cat. He just starts preening himself as the raccoon eats.

Raccoons will attack and kill tiny kittens in the nest. That is very common.
