Obviously he's looking for a way to tear her down. If he really wants to know if the husband is happy, he ought to simply ask the husband. My take is that this guy is on some kind of ego trip.

I think he's proving a point with this question. She has no idea if her husband is happy. It's real easy to be caught up in ourselves that we forget our partners have the same needs we have, they may require a different presentation, but they're still the same needs.
