sadly this is common practice with some HOAs the president looks for a resident who they believe they can first start sending fines for anything and they keep fining until they put a lien on the property for unpaid fines then they go to foreclosure and take the home they then sell to someone who meets their ideal owner and then the president and a couple of board members split the money and this goes all the time because the court rule that a beef between a homeowner and the HOA is a civil matter and not criminal but luckily state lawmakers have been passing legislation that is stripping HOAs power and limiting their ability to foreclose on homeowners over unpaid fines and have been giving homeowners the right to do things on their private property and stripping HOAs of power to fine homeowners And slowly but surely the law is making what HOAs do a criminal act The best HOA in a community is no HOA in the community

There are laws I'm all 50 states for Elder Abuse. This encompasses Physical, Psychological and Emptional Abuse. This generates fines, jail time depending upon the type, how long, and what the abuser did. This also generates what is called a CORI and is a federal program that enlists the crime etc. Once you have a CORI you lose all professional licenses and can never work with the public, including McDonalds, if you have minor children, you can lose them. This destroys your life. I know the police charged a person who broke into my home in the middle of the night wailed on me and my disabled husband. Both of us were over 60. There are laws that protect the elderly. that HOA President should have been arrested for Elder Abuse and financial abuse of an elderly person. Regardless if you think this is AL generated or not this does happen in real life. I would check your state to realize you need to watch how you treat the elderly.
